Hannah & Greg had the most charming picnic themed wedding!!! Words can not describe how much fun it was!

Greg & Hannah’s wedding was filled with so much love and special details to make the wedding unique. One thing that I loved most was the ceremony. To make their ceremony super special they did a few things different…one of which was playing some nontraditional songs, some of my favorite songs actually!!

They also had adorable slide show, the unity candle involved all the guests lighting a candle and passing the light through out the whole church (the whole church was lite with everyone’s individual candles) once the light reached Hannah & Greg’s Mother’s they lite the candle for the Bride & Groom so that they could lite their unity candle…very neat!

Hannah’s talented brother played 2 amazing songs with Hannah’s roommate on his guitar, their voice together was amazing (seriously you guys need to make a cd!!) One of  my fav. songs they played at the ceremony was “You & I” by Ingrid Michaelson. I love this song….

You and I by Ingrid Michaelson

don’t you worry, there my honey
we might not have any money
but we’ve got our love to pay the bills

maybe I think you’re cute and funny,
maybe I wanna do what bunnies do with you,
if you know what I mean

Oh, let’s get rich and buy our parents homes in the South of France
let’s get rich and give everybody nice sweaters
and teach them how to dance
let’s get rich and build our house on a mountain
making everybody look like ants
from way up there, you and I, you and I

well you might be a bit confused
and you might be a little bit bruised
but baby how we spoon like no one else
so I will help you read those books
if you will soothe my worried looks
and we will put the lonesome on the shelf

oh let’s get rich and buy our parents homes in the South of France
let’s get rich and give everybody nice sweaters
and teach them how to dance
let’s get rich and build our house on a mountain
making everybody look like ants
from way up there you and I, you and I

Hannah’s mother made this adorable quilt as a special wedding gift!! Is it not amazing, I want one for myself! ;-) I love that Hannah wanted to use the quilt to continue her picnic theme! So enchanting!

Are the dresses not adorable!!?? They are from Urban Outfitters. The ties that the handsome men are strutting Hannah’s Mother also made, how clever!!

I can’t help but sing, “Love, Love, Love…All you need is love” hehe!

And above the GiddyBooth photos….everyone loves the GiddyBooth!! ;-)

Thanks Hannah & Greg! Your wedding was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your special day! God Bless & Congrats!!

Details:

Location {Cedar Rapids, Iowa}

Ceremony {Stonebridge Church}

Reception {Festhalle Barn, Amana IA} adorable venue!!

To finish up on some of Hannah & Greg’s details, the boxed lunches was adorable with the hand sewn flower on each box, and the pie, pie! The ice cream truck!!! Oh yummmm! The beautiful decor, adorable barn, fun loving guests, and two amazing music dance floor hosts made for one wonderful unforgettable evening! A lot of hard work and some clever ideas makes for everlasting memories!

Yesterday I had a lovely conversation with my pal Amy, we talked about how being vintage is a current trend right now…and it totally is. Some of us will always love vintage! I remember my Mom took me garage saleing when I was little and I started a collection of old hats, I even wore them around town I loved them so much. Everyone always said I was born in the wrong century! Which I think I was! Currently recycling old items, reusing them, and dressing like a pin-up girl, or old “vintage” styles is the current trend right now. But the thing is don’t be “vintage” unless it is really truly you. Be who you are, not what society says you should be. So as far as planning your wedding goes, vintage is the current trend, but only be vintage if you truly are vintage and love it! Your wedding photos will be forever, and you want to look back on them and still love your dress, your wedding decor, and so on. You don’t want to look back on your wedding photos and wish you had done your wedding in your true personal style. Be yourself on your wedding day, don’t be anything else but you! Your wedding is the most special day of your life and should represent who you are as a new couple (not the latest trend), so be whatever “you” is, be that. You will be so happy you did!

But for those of you who truly are vintage, and love all things old and stinky, this blog series is for you so I hope you enjoy it. I will be showing you lots of fun vintage wedding ideas! Stay tune!

Style Me Pretty has this new amazing feature that allows anyone to customize and create inspiration boards! It is amazing and I love it. Here is the first one that I created.

When I was gathering ideas for this board I was thinking about a new twist on a fall wedding. Typically for fall Brides will go with the good old, red, orange, and plum colored weddings. When I think of fall I think of soft muted colors, and bright bold jewel tones, and rustic wood and earth that has lost it’s greenery. I think of harvesting the food from summers hard work, like apples and cider.

All of the items I feel pull nicely together to create a new spin on fall. For the color palette, soft muted colors: champagne, light green, and muted Robbin’s egg blue, and  a nice punch of bright jewel toned flowers to add a more traditional fall color scheme for the bouquets.
