Yesterday I had a lovely conversation with my pal Amy, we talked about how being vintage is a current trend right now…and it totally is. Some of us will always love vintage! I remember my Mom took me garage saleing when I was little and I started a collection of old hats, I even wore them around town I loved them so much. Everyone always said I was born in the wrong century! Which I think I was! Currently recycling old items, reusing them, and dressing like a pin-up girl, or old “vintage” styles is the current trend right now. But the thing is don’t be “vintage” unless it is really truly you. Be who you are, not what society says you should be. So as far as planning your wedding goes, vintage is the current trend, but only be vintage if you truly are vintage and love it! Your wedding photos will be forever, and you want to look back on them and still love your dress, your wedding decor, and so on. You don’t want to look back on your wedding photos and wish you had done your wedding in your true personal style. Be yourself on your wedding day, don’t be anything else but you! Your wedding is the most special day of your life and should represent who you are as a new couple (not the latest trend), so be whatever “you” is, be that. You will be so happy you did!
But for those of you who truly are vintage, and love all things old and stinky, this blog series is for you so I hope you enjoy it. I will be showing you lots of fun vintage wedding ideas! Stay tune!

After the Kohler Bridal Show Brittany and I attended Saturday and browsing through various wedding blogs, I had an urge to research wedding gowns. Oddly enough I was never the little girl who would spend my days dreaming about my wedding day, using white bed sheets for a veil or daydreaming about my boy band crush as my husband. However, after starting this internship my appreciation for weddings, decorating, style, etc…has significantly grown and I find the idea of my own wedding very exciting. One of the more exciting sides of a wedding, I think, is picking out your dress. After having my mind boggled by the hundreds of styles and fabrics, I was about to take a rest when I came across a designer by the name of Adele Wechsler. Many of you brides and brides-to-be may already know of her, but I just had to share a few of her designs with you. A line of hers, called ECO COUTURE, is so inspiring. All fabrics, hemp and silk are organic, she uses vegetable dyes and reconstructs dresses from scrap fabrics. Take a look at some wonderful dresses, maybe it will spark an idea for your own wedding dress!
